Where can one know about God more than through the Bible, His Word? It is through the authority of this wonderful book that we can get a glimpse of who really God is. It is by reading this Holy Book that we get that chance, that opportunity to know Him more and more and thus, build a personal relationship with him. And by reading means to really immerse yourself in His Word that it changes your heart and your mind ready to serve and follow Him willingly and to strive for Christ-likeness.

As I read this post about "What are the attributes of God?" (Source: http://www.gotquestions.org/attributes-God.html) it made me become consciously aware of who God is and His presence in my life (I just finished my work for the day and got so preoccupied with the things of this life). So I opened up my Bible and I started looking out for the Bible verses quoted in the post about the attributes of God.
God Hates Sin But Loves Faithfulness and Obedience

Job 42:7 God is speaking directly to three friends who didn't speak the truth about who God is. And it shows that he is angry with them with this lie. But still, he offers forgiveness and repentance despite of this wrongdoing and offered them a way out. It also shows us how God blessed Job many times more after Job showed his faithfulness to Him even amidst the severe trials and painful sufferings that he encountered including the loss of all his children. This shows us how God hates sinning and loves faithfulness and obedience to His word. He hates the sin but offers a way out for the sinner so he repents and turns back from it.

As a Christian or even as someone who professes that he/she believes in Jesus Christ, I believe that it is quite essential to really know his true nature for failing to do so gives people a false impression of who God is leading them to hate, abhor, and blame Him whenever bad things are happening in their lives and also  about all the bad things that are happening in this world. Some would leave the faith and others would deliberately try to destroy and preach against His word.

But as one chooses to know God more and more, he/she cannot expect to know everything about God for we can only know the things that he chooses to reveal. One may not be able to fully fathom the logic or the reasoning for this, but I would think that God is too big for our human brains to comprehend. But what he has revealed to us is what's essential for our spiritual journey with Him here on earth.

God is Light

Isaiah 60:19 "...for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory." I could already imagine when Jesus would return and a new world will be manifested here on earth with no more tears and suffering, that there will be no need for the sun nor the moon, there will be no night, for God will give light to all and He will be in the midst with His people. How wonderful would that be! To shine with God's neverending light. :)

God is Truth

Hebrews 4:1 God's truth has been revealed all throughout the Bible and just as Jesus said, "if anyone has ears to hear, let them hear." (Mark 4:23) He even added, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." (Hebrews 4:7) Do not let disobedience, pride, hatred, and indifference stop you from entering his rest forever and rob you of eternal life. Rather, Jesus encourages you to listen to His voice, His word for it is the only true way.

God is Our Creator

Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;" How can you get any more clearer than that? We and everything in this earth is the LORD's alone despite of being tarnished by sin. The Prince of Darkness may temporarily rule this world, but the time will come when God will redeem the world from its sins and redeem all of His beloved.

The Lord's earth was once a beautiful perfect world without sin. But because of man's disobedience, it produced pain and suffering and disasters. But despite of being marred by human sinfulness, you can still see His glory in His creation--its complexity, beauty and order. I could just think about the stars, the galaxies, the beauty of nature, the complexity and beauty of our bodies and how our brain works, how everything worked together just as He intended them to be. Just thinking about all these beautiful things, I cannot fathom God's awesomeness.
